The company began operation in 1993, under SY
Perunding, registered with Ministry of Finance, Malaysia (Kementerian Kewangan) and Board
of Engineers, Malaysia. The company was later registered as body corporate status with the
Board of Engineers, Malaysia under SY
Perunding Sdn. Bhd., in 2007. The company consists of
motivated, dedicated, innovative and practical engineers whose objectives are to provide
constant level of practical, cost effective solution and good service to meet clients
requirement and budget. |

The practice covers the
entire scope of civil and structural
engineering consultation inclusive of engineering master plan study. The specific areas include hotels, shopping complexes, housings/ condominiums/
Apartments/ Hostel, factories, hospitals, bridges and the infrastructures of road,
drainage, water supply and sewerage.
The company's mission is to strive for excellence by producing the most optimum design
in terms of material economy and buildability. This is to ensure the client getting the
most economical buildings at the shortest optimum time with the least construction
problem. To achieve this mission, the company's operation is extensively computerised,
using in-house and commercial software. In year 2001, SY Perunding has published the
company WebPages to Internet with it's own domain name and consists of more than 20 pages
of information and function.
THE COMPANY DIRECTORS
Ir. Neo Say Yeow, throughout
the years, has gained considerable reputation in the engineering field through a series of
non-conventional designs, alternative designs and presentations in seminar and lectures.
He has personally directed various alternative design, saving millions in time and
material cost in foundation, high-rise construction, wall-slab system, void slab buoyancy
raft, bridges, etc. The above is made possible with the availability of tailored suit
personally developed computer software.
The years of hard work in consulting and contracting firm, in research
and in humble consultation practice, have enable him to integrate the various aspects of
design and construction, which lead him to the practice of value engineering with
buidability in mind.
His knowledge and interest in computer and software have helped to lay the foundation
for the computerisation of the company.

Ir. Choong Kar Fatt,
was graduated from University of Malaya with Bachelor of Engineering (1st class honor)
degree.
Through out the years in consultancy office, he extensively involves in structural design
and as well as exposing himself widely to other engineering related work and design like
civil work design & submission, periodical site supervision, external co-ordination
work, internal co-ordination work, in-house design software development and drafting
system development.
Superstructure design that he has done include low-rise building and high rise building.
Through the project involved, he also has gained the experience in foundation design (e.g.
shallow foundation and deep foundation), earth retaining structure design and slope
stability checking.
The continuous diligent in design work, technical know how exploration and design software
development, has equipped him with an effective concept in engineering solution with the
awareness of the significant in improving design productivity, while maintaining the
quality of service provided.

Computer software is extensively used since the beginning. The firm has
developed hundreds of tool in spreadsheet and word format for design, drafting and office
administration.
