c) Base Ammunition Terminal at TUDM Kuantan,Pahang Darul Makmur for Ministry of Defence. (RM30 million)

Ö Design of blast resistant structures of Igloos, Missile Inspection and Assembly Room, Rocket Inspection and Assembly Room and blast resistant walls. The maximum loading was 700 kN/sq.m. for a positive duration of 30 millisecond. Dynamic elasto-plastic principle, in accordance to NATO standard, was used.

d) Matsushita Factory Extension in Petaling Jaya. (RM4 million)

e) Pedestrian Bridge across Jalan Tun Razak from Plaza Yow Chuan to Ampang Park Shopping Complex (RM1 million).

f) Pedestrian Subway crossing under Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin at KTM Headquarters, K. LUMPUR.

c) Feasibility Study for Guest House Conversion to Office for Brunei Shell Petroleum.

July 1987 to Apr 1988 DESIGN ENGINEER

a) Bridge No. 1 for Brunei Investment Agency in Brunei Darussalam.

( 8-span, 3-lane continuous reinforced concrete 'void slab' bridge)

b) Renovation Works at Level P2 and P4 of Block Extension at Damansara Town Centre, Kuala Lumpur

c) 4 No. of void slab, pretensioned and post tensioned bridges for University Brunei Darussalam

d)University Sains Malaysia, Ipoh New Campus. (RM 37 million)

involved in the followings for about 10 turnkey and construction projects.

· Design of Permanent Building work and Temporary works. (Formwork, Tower crane foundation and bracing etc.)

· Alternative design to facilitate construction works and to meet budget.

· Liaise with the relevant Approving Authorities, clients and consulting engineers.

· Resolve site technical problems which are unable to be resolved by project engineer.

Projects supported are as follow with some major technical contributions highlighted.

#UNIVERSITI SAINS MALAYSIA, KUBANG KERIAN (RM 36 MILLION)

Ö Alternative foundation design from SPUN pile to insitu Precast concrete pile of 365 by 365mm (135 Tons) and 265 by 265 mm (85 tons) with unconventional but exact and economical system of monitoring pile set criteria where every pile was piled to its exact load varying from 30 to 135 Tons. Despite strong initial objection, the consultant finally agreed because all the 10 chosen test working pile passed the load test.

Ö Alternative roof truss designed from Bolt and Nut to Gang-Nail system.

#UNIVERSITI SAINS MALAYSIA, PHASE 2, SRI ISKANDAR PERAK. (RM 24 MILLION)

Ö Alternative foundation design from insitu Precast concrete pile to SPUN pile.

Ö Alternative roof truss design from GANG NAIL to BOLT and NUT system.

Ö Alternative Ground Anchor design.

#PKNM BUILDING, MELAKA. (RM 27 MILLION)

Ö Alternative prestressing design to this 14-storey abandoned project.

#ITM KUCHING, SARAWAK. (RM 10 MILLION)

Ö Structural appraisal of the whole project.

#SULTANAH AMINAH POLYCLINIC, JOHOR BAHRU. (RM 15 MILLION)

Ö Alternative foundation design from insitu Precast concrete piles to SPUN pile of 300mm dia. (65 Tons) and 250 mm dia (45 Tons) with the method of monitoring that expedite construction work and also save client money.

#SELAMA HOSPITAL, PERAK (RM 15 MILLION)

Ö turnkey design of 100,000 gallon, 60 ft. high steel water storage tower.

#3-STOREY MAWAR COMPLEX, JOHOR BAHRU. (RM 3 MILLION)

Ö Alternative steel roof design. The original Portal Frame of 12 Tons each was reduced to only 1.5 Tons which greatly facilitate construction beside saving of $300,000.

#24-Storey North-South Apartment, Kuala Lumpur. (RM 20 MILLION)

Ö Master conceptual design and sizing on this turnkey project which sits on complicated Limestone Formation of jalan Raja Laut.

May 1989 to May 1991 SENIOR PLANNING ENGINEER/COORDINATOR

Planning and monitoring of the numerous tender/construction projects. Scope of works includes the following:-

· Formulation of construction methodology and site quality control.

· Preparing master work programmes and construction site planning.

· Preparation of formwork and other temporary work systems.

· Planning on materials, resource, machinery and equipment scheduling.

· Preparation of necessary tender/contract documentation, undertake evaluation and recommendation.

· Tendering of new jobs.

Projects supported are as follow with some major contributions highlighted.

#KOTA RAYA PLAZA OFFICE/SHOPPING COMPLEX, JOHOR BAHRU. (RM 42 MILLION)

Ö Project management using CPM (using HORNET).

Ö Expedite the construction with WAFFLE design as the precast TT-slab system fail to be delivered.

Ö Steel formwork design to enable Top-Down construction.

#HOTEL INSTANA, KUALA LUMPUR (RM 124 MILLION).

Ö Alternative design of the 25 floor Tower Block to facilitate the use of SGB wall-form and special slab formwork system (using Wall and SLAB system on Transfer floor of l.5m by 2.75m beams). The saving in steel bar alone was 1300 tons. The total saving is $3 million in cost and 2 months in construction time.

Ö Transfer floor formwork design to enable TOP-Down construction.

The above 12 projects spread around Peninsula and East Malaysia and have various foundation types. Innovative economical and buildable concept are introduced, inclusive of Floating foundation in Sabak Bernam, waffle floor system (for hospital buildings), wall-slab system (for the walkway flat), raft foundation in lieu of deep foundation, plane unbraced concrete frame, slim truss rafter, footing with bar curtainment, reinforced concrete drain, pump water supply, etc.

Ö PRELIMINARY STUDY AND DESIGN FOR PAKA AND PASIR GUDANG POWER STATION.
