The ground floor is designed to take a live load of 30 KN/sq. m using suspended 150 and 200mm flat slab system on 150x150 and 200x 200 RC piles. This method minimised excavation and enhanced the speed of construction. The minimum clear span is 7m. The column grid is at 10 metre by 20/30 metre. The main trusses span 10 metre and the secondary trusses span 20 to 30 metres. The main columns were formed by steel universal columns. The main and secondary trusses are formed by structural steel T section and angle. The main roofing sheet spans for 60 metre in each of the two directions supported at 5 metre c/c directly on the secondary trusses. In this system, no purlin is used. This project was completed in December 1996 |
