Major Infrastructure Work Consist of Earthwork, Main Access Road, Main Drain, Roadside Drainage, Walkway, Main Sewerage Reticulation, Main Water Reticulation, Main Water Pipe Diversion, Street Lighting, Existing Electrical and Telephone Infra Services Diversion on Part of Lot 47, Section 90A, Jalan Pudu Ulu, Daerah Wilayah Persekutuan.
(Construction Cost: RM 3.5 Millions)

This project consist of earthwork, road and drainage, sewerage and water reticulation; being civil works for an area of 13.25 acres with various development inclusive of 1 block of 18 storeys medium cost apartment and 3 block of 27 unit 3 storeys shop office.

The site located besides Jalan Pudu Ulu, adjacent to rows of existing terrace houses, approximately 500m from Bangunan PGRM, Cheras along Jalan Pudu Ulu and 500m from Stadium Badminton Cheras

Many difficult existing site condition and constraint were encountered. There was a waterway to be diverted. Existing big 1400mm dia. and 900mm dia PUAS’s water pipe were in the way of main drain alignment. Existing factory located just beside the main drain alignment. Encroachment of existing squatter house into project boundary was encountered. Approved sewerage final disposal point connected into existing highly utilised sewerage manhole. Water tapping point was from 750mm dia PUAS main pipe at middle of heavy traffic Jalan Cheras which made the construction works complicated. Slime presence made the construction of civil works very unusual.

Various discussions and submissions to authorities have been made for site amendments to suit the existing site conditions and constraint. The approvals to construct as per site amendments have been obtained from authorities in short time.

1400mm dia water pipe elevation works

Assistance has been given to contractor for the existing huge water pipes "S-bend" elevation works, during works planning stage and application for the required permits and approval from authorities. The well-organised "S-bend" elevation works that took only approximately 1 night time frame has minimised the water disruption to its supply line.

Road works in construction

The project was completed in March 2005. The clearances from DBKL, JPP & PUAS for this portion of works have been obtained subsequently.
